I was so honored that my dear friend, who is expecting her third little girl in just a few weeks, asked me to capture this special time in her life. It was a little last minute, at first she said she might be skipping maternity photos this time around….but eventually she decided to do them. Maternity portraits are my most favorite sessions. Those 9 months your little one is in your belly is such a fleeting time, although for some women it may seem like years, there are time where I do MISS being pregnant. Looking back, I didn’t get maternity photos done, heck I don’t even have more than 1 or 2 iPhone pictures of me pregnant, but I wish that I had. I regret it now, I really do. Although I was tired a lot, hungry all the time and even sometimes sick, I miss it. The tiny flutters of the tiny feet inside kicking you from the inside, probably to remind you that they are there.I miss that feeling. And I regret not having photos taken to look back on that time in my life. I’m so glad that my dear friend decided on maternity portraits, and I’m so honored she trusted me to capture this time.
Here are my favorites from our sunset maternity session.
And here is an image I entered in the Jessica Drossin Glitter Dust contest over at ViewBug. The theme of the contest is Glitter Dust and Fireflies. Can you see the little fairy? The fairy dust was made using the Jessica Drossin Glitter Dust Brush and the fairy was made using some brush strokes.
